Introducing Torfox – Secure Anonymous Browser

Torfox - browse the web anonymously A new handy open-source online privacy protection goodie has recently been announced by Torfox – the secure anonymous web browser, which allows users to browse web pages hiding their information such as their real location [IP] and other parameters which may be used to identify user data. In short, Torfox protects user privacy and identity online.

Torfox is based on technology from Mozilla and the Tor Project, however it is not related to nor endorsed by either of them. It’s an innovative piece of technology which is a mash-up between the anonymity software Tor and the web browser Firefox.

The browser is especially useful for people who want to visit sites anonymously including, but not limited to movie sites, adult sites, sites like youtube.com, gmail.com, myspace.com, facebook.com and others. It will also allow you to access and enjoy certain blocked websites. Anonymous browsing is accomplished by the browser routing all connections through three different proxy servers and by disabling insecure features such as disk cache, JavaScript and plugins.

Apart from using it directly online, Torfox can be also downloaded as a ZIP file and extracted to a USB drive for a portable version that works anywhere without installation. Torfox is absolutely free. Below are screenshots of this goodie:
