Top 10 Virals In November

by buzzhunt on December 6, 2009

The list is compiled by video distribution agency goviral, pimped by Kuaga.

1. Cullman Liquidation – Mobile Homes.

Two enthusiasts launched an online initiative “I Love Commercials”. The website offers internet users to nominate their favorite local business for a free video commercial.

One of the lucky companies to get a free ad was a mobile home seller Cullman Liquidation. One month live, the video has become a viral hit and has been watched by one million people on Youtube. It’s a shared success story for the business and I Love Commercials. Over 100 companies across the US have lined up for a free ad.

2. ‘Improv Everywhere’ Trident – Grocery Store Musical.

The group Improv Everywhere executes successful flash mobs in the US, films and shares the videos with public for the fun of it (and sometimes for money). Their latest project involves six undercover actors singing a ‘fruit song’ in a grocery store to the surprise of the shoppers.

Simply entertaining, the video is a viral campaign for Trident chewing gum – the banner appears as the end frame for the video. The brand gave the actors complete creative freedom and did not demand product placement. The video has generated 1.4 million views, 422 blog posts and more than 2,400 tweets.

3. Guinness – Bring it to Life.

Shot in Canada, New Zealand, Fiji and the UK, this Guinness video shows men creating natural locations and wildlife on the planet’s toughest locations. Aired on TV and commercially promoted by Youtube, the video has received over 220,000 views and 186 blog posts in less than a month.

4. Verizon – Misfit Toys.

In this ad, Verizon Wireless mocks AT&T’s poor 3G coverage in the United States compared to that of Verizon. AT&T’ iPhone is presented as a misfit toy on the island of other misfit toys. Campaign’s slogan is “A great 3G phone without great 3G coverage is like a charlie-in-the-box”.

This cute and provocative ad has generated half a million views and 900 tweets in less than three weeks into the campaign.

5. Nokia N900 – The Journey Starts Here.

The video is presented as a CCTV footage of a Nokia focus group meeting where the participants share their thoughts about Nokia N900 device. Behaving mysteriously from start, one of the participants breaks out into a very unusual transformation and ruins the meeting.

The campaign’s message is to show that this device is full of user-inspired innovations, built on the powerful Maemo platform. The video has generated 200,000 views during the first two weeks after launch.
