Lloyds TSB are running a competition this summer in order to find the best amateur British weather photographer of the year 2010. The winning photography entries will compete to win the prize of £10,000. The winning entries will be defined by users voting for the pictures submitted by people from all over GB. The overall winner will be picked on the basis of flair, technique and originality. The entries will be judged by a leading panel of meteorologists and photographers.

To participate in the competition, you need to upload your photo on the to the Lloyds TSB website. Hot lazy days maybe few and far in-between, but an English summer still offers plenty of chances to capture a glimmering horizon or glittering scenes of summer rain. There are eight categories you can choose to upload your photo to, including unusual weather, sunshine, clouds, rain, snow and rainbows, among others. There are currently more than 1,000 photos uploaded on the website by people from all over GB. You can browse through the categories, check out the pictures and vote for the ones you like.

The competition will run from April 13th – September 30th 2010. Take a look at entries submitted so far here: www.lloydstsbweathercompetition.co.uk/category/

Have a look and at my picture I took in Scotland couple of months ago. The road is only half-covered by rain, the sky is half cloudy.

British weather – what to say! It's August and your entry sums up the weather perfectly – temperamental and grey!!!!

I agree. I completely agree. If only the prize was a holiday to the sun, I guess you could use your £10k for that! I certianly would.

What a terrible August. The last hope of a holiday I have is if I win!
