San Alfonso del Mar Seawater, in Chile, is the largest (1,000 meters (3/5 mile) long) and deepest (up to 40 metres (130 ft) deep) swimming pool in the world, No less than the equivalent of 6,000 family 8m pools.
San Alfonso covers an area of 7.7 hectares (19 acres) and holds 250 million liters (66 million gallons) of seawater.
It uses water pumped, filtered, and treated from the Pacific Ocean.
