Italian photographer Gabriele Galimberti spent 18 months shooting photos for his project “Toy Stories”, featuring children from around the World with their most prized possessions – their toys. He found that children wealthier countries and families were more possessive with their toys and it took him longer to convince them to let him play with them, whereas in poorer countries it was considerably easier to interact, even though the kids only had a few toys.
The toys were also reflective of the world each child was born into, from economic status to social interactions.
