Being the first of its kind, wireless charging station Powermat has received a lot of attention in the past three months. It is not surprising it didn’t take long for the product to take off and grab a lot of attention. Why? Probably because many people have imagined how convenient it would be to charge a phone simply by dropping it on a rag. Then pick it up, fully charged. Without wires crossing all over the place.

And here it is, no longer this concept sits only in our imagination.

Powermat

Drop and charge is a new, yet well expected concept of mobile device charging presented by Powermat. The mat charges Apple’s (iPhone, iPod), Blackberry’s and Nintendo’s devices – some of the world’s most popular communication and entertinament tools. One mat replaces all cords and adapters for three devices at a time. There are two mats on the offer – home & office and a portable one. Both, in fact, are quite portable and small, each fitting into a laptop case and definitely a backpack. The mat can be moved around with ease.

Full set of devices that can be charged with the mat is presented here on this page in the bottom. Maybe this is something you want to power your device. Hassle free.

N900 is Nokia’s first Maemo device which offers a powerful and functional mix of a smartphone and a pocket laptop.

It’s high time Nokia came up with a gadget like this one to stand the competition against the rival Apple, who has been successfully increasing its smartphone market share in the absence of any serious competition. The new Linux-driven device should help Nokia to pull the blanket on its side. This, in turn, will certainly push Apple & HTC (*given that HTC discontinues stuffing their technology with Windows OS) to create something even better. Keep up fighting guys! Competition drives innovation and we, users & consumers, are happy to benefit from it.

Pre-orders are taken @ www.shop.nokia.com/n900.
