It came to my attention that there is a new tool out there to connect with like-minded blogs, content and bloggers. While it is commonly assumed that the most popular way to network blog content and connect to like-minded bloggers is via blog roll, I think it is time to question whether it is really the best way.

Small Rivers - linking content together

Small Rivers, a group of Swiss-based enthusiasts, question this assumption by rolling out a new, more efficient way of networking blog posts. They have developed a plug which allows bloggers to get their posts and content connected to like-minded content elsewhere on the web. To give you a live example, I have posted a sticker to this post [below] by clicking which any blogger can contribute to my story by creating a new post on their blog and pasting the sticker on it. All done with a few clicks. Users, in turn, can browse similar posts right in the browser without leaving the site, by clicking the sticker, which will show a sidebar showing content matched with the same sticker. This is indeed a fresh and simple approach to content networking. While content consumption increasingly happens in multiple destinations, this solution allows to bring content back together into one place.

Try it yourself. WWF International and other NGOs are already actively linking their causes together. Check out the sticker below:

N900 is Nokia’s first Maemo device which offers a powerful and functional mix of a smartphone and a pocket laptop.

It’s high time Nokia came up with a gadget like this one to stand the competition against the rival Apple, who has been successfully increasing its smartphone market share in the absence of any serious competition. The new Linux-driven device should help Nokia to pull the blanket on its side. This, in turn, will certainly push Apple & HTC (*given that HTC discontinues stuffing their technology with Windows OS) to create something even better. Keep up fighting guys! Competition drives innovation and we, users & consumers, are happy to benefit from it.

Pre-orders are taken @ www.shop.nokia.com/n900.
